Artists in Residence

Summer to Fall 2024

Paula Lycan is an artist working in photography and traditional darkroom practices, using portraiture to trace a broader view of family, memory, and tenderness. Paula is a current resident at Hercules Art Studio Program 2021-2023 and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Photography at Columbia University and Moravian University. Paula has exhibited at The Jewish Museum, The International Print Center New York, and has artwork in the collections of the Mead Arts Museum. Paula was born in 1992 in Pensacola, FL, and grew up in San Diego, CA. She received her BA from UC Santa Cruz and her MFA in Photography at Columbia University. https://paulalycan.com/

Erica Mao (b. 1994, Columbia, MD) received her BFA from Parsons School of Design, NY, in 2016, and her MFA from Columbia University, NY, in 2020. In 2023, Mao had a solo exhibition, Reach Through the Veil, at Rachel Uffner Gallery, New York, NY, as well as a two person exhibition with Robert Zehnder, Buried Deep, in 2022. Rosana Cabán is a Puerto Rican born, Brooklyn based artist. She uses sound, sculpture and performance as mediums to probe problematic binaries such as masculinity and femininity, good and evil, and technology vs human progress. As a producer and recording artist, Cabán has been a part of releases and performances from artists in the Brooklyn DIY scene including Psychic Twin, Primitive Heart, Shrines, GhostPiss, SPRNGVLVT, and Prima. She has most notably performed at the Brooklyn Museum, National Sawdust, the Fillmore, Webster Hall, and over 80 rock venues across the US and Canada through touring with Strfkr, LadyHawke, and the Generationals and opening for Sylvan Esso. She has collaborated with Naama Tsabar to perform at the Kasmin Gallery, the Guggenheim, and the High Line. Cabán was a Marble House Project Artist in Residence in 2018, an Ace Hotel AIR 2017, and a guest collaborator for Lucas Artists Fellow Xandra Ibarra at Montalvo Arts Center in 2020.
